MEDAL TO EDUCATIONAL MERIT

On November 21 Dr. Edgardo N. De Vincenzi, President of the World Confederation of Education (COMED), was honored along with Brazilian Vice-Governor of the State of Minas Gerais, with the Medal to Educational Merit (Medhala do Merito Educacional) at the University Center of South Minas, Brazil.
"I must infinitely thank you for the honor which an award as qualified as this brings about, because of the institution it represents -those who are part of the UNIS" were the words of the President of COMED when he received the distinction.
UNIS-MG offers this award as an acknowledgement to those who contributed to the prosperity of the institution. For them, the medal entails the recognition to greatness and to the reputation of those who are an example to society.
"Currently, the loss of values is generating a crisis in society, due to lack of ethics, morality and creativity. This is why education is a project of life, love, will, perseverance, creativity and hope" stated Dr De Vincenzi.
This recognition of the career in the field of education is also a distinction that emphasizes once again the quality and excellence of COMED, not only nationally but also internationally.
The medal is a compilation of greatness, recognition and reputation that UNIS-MG has of someone. In its history, it has always been offered to those who have demonstrated acts of relevance, of victory or even to be an example for society. UNIS-MG offers this award as recognition to those who contributed to the prosperity of our institution.
The Medal of Merit on Education of the University Center of South Mine consists of a blue cross, surrounded by branches of coffee with the institutional emblem in the center. The patè cross symbolizes the union of cosmic energies, represents the harmony between heaven and earth, between reason and faith. During old age it indicates the life of the universe and of man. Blue is the color of the sky, which reflects justice, loyalty, nobility, enthusiasm and perseverance. These values are the cornerstone of our lives. Green is the color of plants, the color of life, and it represents hope. It stimulates moments of peace and balance. It is the union of the recipient with the triumph of UNIS-MG on the difficulties to overcome. The branches of coffee recall the richness of our region, from which many children will rise to the progress of our nation. In the center a white circle, the resulting color of everyone else. This is to purify and transform. It represents perfection and divine love.
Our emblem is the greatest symbol of our institution, our mission and our pride. This symbol was born in the midst of struggle for freedom, recognition and respect. Therefore, we offer our honor, a gold medal, so that when someone receives it, they also have the memory of the greatest wealth that they helped to spread: KNOWLEDGE.
